Senior Executives now able to Invest
the Time they spend Travelling
Senior executives who are too busy to develop their skills on formal
training courses are now able to train during the time they spend
travelling, thanks to a new line of business-skills audio
development programmes produced by Journey Learning Ltd.
According to research carried out by Journey Learning and supported
by Government statistics, the average company-car driver will spend
more than nineteen business weeks each year behind the wheel of
their car, driving a total of 19,200 miles at an average speed of
just over 30mph.
Crimson Publishing (the organisation behind Growing Business
magazine and PLC Director) are one of Journey Learning’s customers.
Editor-in-Chief, Marcus Austin, said that “we looked at using audio
learning to make vital information more accessible to people who
otherwise wouldn’t have the time to read it. Many of our readers are
busy people and audio learning provides them the opportunity to pick
up skills while they’re out and about. People spend so much time in
cars or on trains, it makes a lot of sense.”
According to Managing Director, Graeme Ventris, “our customers tell
us that, even while they appreciate the need to develop skills,
certain executives are simply too busy to attend training courses.
Listening to audio while they travel, even the busiest executives
can develop skills and take advantage of what would otherwise be
redundant time. Even someone who takes just 45 minutes getting in to
work will spend more than ten business-weeks on the move each year.”
Having begun life as a consultancy developing their customers’
existing training materials into audio programmes, Journey Learning
now produce a wide range of business titles for Sales and Management
executives from their offices in Surrey working with some of the
country’s leading training organisations. However, they haven’t
abandoned their roots. According to Marcus Austin, “one of the
reason’s we selected Journey Learning was for their ability to
produce bespoke audio programmes which meet the needs of our
customers. They offered an end-to-end solution for developing our
content and the production quality has been excellent”.
